At 9:30 a.m. on May 18th, 2022, Chenyao Wu, a graduate student from Neural Computation and Brain-Computer Interaction Group gave her master thesis defense entitled “Research on Decoding for the Motor Imagery in Brian-Computer Interface based on EEG and fNIRS”. The experts participating in this defense include Professor Yijun Wang from Institute of Semiconductors, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Professor Jiacai Zhang from Beijing Normal University, Associate Professor Ke Li from Beihang University and Associate Professor Shuang Qiu from Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences. In addition, all doctoral students of this research team attended this master thesis defense.
At the beginning of the defense, the defense secretary announced the members of defense expert group and introduced the basic personal information of the respondent. Then, Chenyao Wu made a detailed report on her research topic, focusing on the innovative achievements of master’s thesis and the academic achievements during her study for the master’s degree. After the report, the defense experts affirmed the significance and practical value of the topic selection of the thesis at first, and then put forward a series of related questions. The respondent responded one by one and this invited a heated discussion among experts. Finally, after the discussion of defense expert group, the defense committee unanimously approved her thesis defense and recommended that Chenyao Wu be granted graduation and a Master of Engineering degree.
